Romney's Polygamist Mormon Ancestry?

Mormons are technically Christians too. I don't understand why Fundamentalist Christians are tearing him apart over this. Is it just me or do Christians and Muslims tend to hate other denominations of their own religion than they do other faiths? Are you bothered by Mainstream Christianity's history of Crusades, Witch Hunts, forced conversions, and repression of science?
